In this day of corporate “factory” agriculture, it is rare to find an operation like the Natural Cattle Company. The Trainor family has owned and operated our ranch in Southeastern Colorado since 1892. The genetics for fine tasting beef from Scottish Angus and English Hereford cattle have been advanced over three centuries. We are a small operation and will stay that way. We produce the best product we can and specialize in providing premium-cut ground beef to restaurants and wholesalers in Colorado.
If there is one thing we know, it is how to produce excellent ground beef. The truth is, not all beef is created equal. Where that beef comes from and how it was raised has everything to do with the quality of the product. When you buy directly from a producer who cares, you can be assured you're getting a quality product.
There are no shortcuts to great ground beef. Because the best cuts of meat make the best ground beef, we include all the premium steak and roast in ours.. We choose the very best stock, and all of our cattle are raised the old-fashioned natural way. They are allowed to reach optimum age and maturity as nature intended. Our aged ground beef just naturally has better texture and flavor than commercial hamburger produced from a mixture of fat and scraps. Each package of our premium-cut ground beef is processed by Jenson’s Blue Ribbon Processing, a third-generation, small family business established at Fowler, Colorado in 1932. (Where our family takes its own beef) Their small plant is scrupulously clean and each and every carcass is fully inspected by a U.S.D.A. inspector.
